The Paombong, Bulacan Trip

Saturday morning, March 26, 2011, the date marked on my phone calendar where we have decided to cancel the weekly War of Emperium for Ragnarok Online, and call it off to enjoy the company of Legacy and Excidium of New Chaos guildsmen.

Arriving at a port near a river at Paombong, Bulacan, this is all where the adventure begins. We have to ride a boat without the outriggers (katig), with some of the party members would like to back out already since it was pitch dark in the middle of the river.

Read the rest of the adventure after the jump.

Master John and the gang enjoying the boat ride. Or maybe not?
I have selected this "best" photo from the rest of the shots. Well, the others would be not so fine since it really was a shaky ride. The boat ride is scary, but in the end it was fun. I'm sorry Master John, you have been the limelight of this shot. *peace*

The boat finally docked after half an hour or so. And just about we are to set foot on ground, we were welcomed by Mychal's wife and company with songs and a feast that you'll never imagine when it'll end. It is also Xenius' birthday at the time. (Happy Birthday baby Xen!)

Freshly cooked Tiger Shrimps
Whenever there are celebrations, one thing's for sure to be around. Just like what Kintummy's posts are great with. It's food! And what's being served is not just what Paombong, Bulacan is known for which is the Sukang Paombong. (palm vinegar from attap palm, locally named as sasa tree).

Steamed Crabs. Yummy!
We have a seafood feast. Steamed crabs, fish lumpia and oysters to name a few, along with pasta and sweets.

And what's more in store? Overflowing booze is served as to celebrate Jay's graduation, Legacy and Excidium guilds first formal meeting in addition to baby Xen's birthday.

JB (that's me), Jonatahan, Jay, John and Rei
As we leave the place, we now have a better picture of how the river that we crossed the previous evening looked like. What Meiji called Sasa Trees (right) were growing on a grove.

Here are the photos that would tell you how does it feel to go for this boat ride.

Row, row, row your boat gently down the stream...
Happy, aren't they?

The boat is sinking! Group yourselves into... awe!

The sun is already high, but we don't have plans
taking a bath at this time.
After a while, we found ourselves already at the port. Just a few more steps before we land on ground. We stopped for a while at the town nearby as we wrap things up for our Paombong trip. With a few more clicks and smiles, our journey ends to a bus ride going to Cubao and finally leave the place. I recall one thing as we tread the ground, Mychal's father-in-law invited us to be back there during the town's fiesta. My ears clapped as that was a sign that we'll be back to this place some time soon. And remember seafoods of Paombong: I shall return!!
