Jed's Island Resort Summer Getaway

Another sunny Saturday morning. Summer heat is on, and Legacy-Excidium planned to spend the weekend at Jed's Island Resort, that's in Calumpit, Bulacan.

A two-week ahead plan was set at the guild's announcements, filled with yes and nos and "I'll think about it first" replies. Within a few days, the final decision was set, the group will be composed of John and his family (mom and siblings), Ann, Mychal, Dave, Jhing and Me. No one's stopping us, even if we're less than ten, it's still a go.

It's about 10:15 in the morning when I met up with Mychal and Dave at Farmer's Food Court. Having confirmed that we're not going to wait for anyone else, we started walking to the bus terminal for a ride.

51.00Php for a Northbound Trip. Not bad.
Destination set to Malolos, Bulacan. The three of us seated beside each other on a row, its a Black Saturday with only a small number of passengers around. It took us more or less an hour and a half to complete the ride. With me beside Mychal, Dave was fortunate enough to sit beside a stranger who made him into a living pillow. (Too bad for you Dave! Haha!)

Seated near the backdoor of the jeepney, a shot
of a suspension bridge going to Calumpit
Arrived at Malolos at past twelve noon. We dropped by at Puregold (a wholesale grocery, or supermarket) to get some additional stuff and utensils for our meals. Jhing arrived a bit later around past one, and off we go and rode a jeepney going to Calumpit.

John and Ann busy unpacking the
stuff that everyone brought
John and Ann were already at the place when we arrived. Right there and then, we unpacked our things right away since it was lunch time. Another feast was served, I guess it can cover up to twenty people, while in fact we were just eight back then.

Lumpiang Shanghai... Heavenly

Among the foods served then were the ones shown on the right. Fried Lumpiang Shanghai, Grilled Pork Liempo, Pork Adobo cooked by John and his family, Nile Tilapia and Milkfish steamed with onions and tomatoes prepared by Jhing, and the "Kilawing" Talaba (Oysters) and the "Balisungsong" (Rice Buns) courtesy of Mychal.

Liempo, hot off the grill
If I remember it right, the duration of our lunch was like between 1:30 to 6:00PM, afraid of getting toasted under the sun, with me sleeping for a couple of hours 'til the sun was completely down. What we were after is night swimming anyway.

Jhing's Steamed Fish... This one's
the Nile Tilapia with Onion and
Tomatoes

What seemed that looked forever is the number of visitors the place is  receiving. As a family leaves the place, they're replaced with yet another group. My rough estimation of the number of people in the place would be close to five thousand.

Checking the place out, we came across this hanging bridge... Not sure what
Jhing is so happy about.

Killing time as we wait for the sun to go down, since the place is adorned with life-size (almost all Disney, I guess) statues. All of them except for me since I had to rest, took pictures alongside these colorful giants.

Good boy John...
Here's an epic shot. At a first glance, where is Jhing?

I'm not sure what exactly happened, but as they've said, Jhing was posing for this shot then all of a sudden, this intruder came to pass by and then when the camera flashed, this is what came out.

Mychal with, hmmm not so sure with this figure
though... Notice the hanging legs on the right side
of the picture...
The place was still jampacked when the night came. A few more shots to share for this night swimming fun.

No more seats for John so he managed a way to still be part of the shot...
